Registration System
Screen 20

 

 Purpose: To check whether a student is clear for registration, and continue to registration screen RR21 if the student is able to register and the user has authorization to complete the registration process.
 To Use:
  • Enter the student's social security number and registration term. The default print location is the registration front desk printer; change the print designation if necessary. Press enter; if the student is clear to register, the system automatically proceeds to screen 21 to continue with course registration. If the student is not clear for registration, the screen will display any holds, and the department to contact.
  • To transfer to another screen, press the Home key, and enter the screen number and press F5.
  • Press F6 to check the student's registration eligibility only; the number of registered hours will appear if the student has already registered for classes.
  • Press F7 to go to the previous screen.
  • Press F10 to print the student's schedule,
  • Press F11 to clear the screen and enter a new social security number.
  • Press F12 to exit to the main menu.

Field Descriptions
SSN:
(0239)
The student's identification number.
Term:
(0245)
The current registration term.
Print: Indicates the campus location at which the schedule will print.
MC - Main printer at front desk (default)
Other printers are available in the records and registration area; each printer is labeled with its identifying code.
Name:
(0245)
Indicates the student's name.

Messages displayed after the student's name indicate any holds on the student's records which will prevent the student from registering for classes. The message will indicate where to send the student for assistance in getting the hold cleared. The number of hours for which the student is already registered displays below any hold messages.

 

 

Error Messages

'CONTACT ANALYST - CONTACT ANALYST - CONTACT ANALYST- CONTACT ANALYST'
A system error has occurred; contact an analyst in Information Technology Services.

'Entered Term Not Available'
An attempt was made to enter a term that is not available for registration processing.

'Enter next student SSN'
The current student information is displayed; enter the next student SSN.

'Enter Student SSN & Term'
Enter the student SSN and the registration term and press enter.

'Invalid key pressed'
An undefined F key was pressed; defined keys are displayed at the bottom of the screen.

'Invalid SSN entered'
An attempt was made to enter a SSN, but the entry was not a valid SSN.

'Press enter to continue'
Press enter to continue with the registration process.

'RCFE1 Term data is not available, contact Information Technology Services'
An attempt was made to enter a term that is not available for fee processing; contact an analyst in Computing Services.
