Guideline - Email Forwarding For Retirees and Faculty Emeritus
The University of North Florida (UNF) will provide email-forwarding services (the service) to retiring faculty and staff according to the following guidelines:
- The service is available to faculty and staff (A&P and USPS) of the university that officially retire (i.e., receive FRS or ORP pension benefits) on or after June 1, 2003. The service is not retroactive and thus does not include employees who retired prior to that date. Only employees that retire from UNF are eligible. OPS employees are not eligible.
- The service is provided on request. The request must be made in advance of employee’s final day of work by completing an ITS Request (ITS-R).
- The service provided is mail forwarding only (i.e., there is no email storage space allocated) and it is assumed that the retiree has or will acquire a personal email address to which email can be forwarded. Exception, Emeritus faculty may continue email storage space on a UNF server if they so desire.
- Retirees agree to be subject to applicable university rules and policies regarding computer use and to comply with applicable federal and state laws. The service may be terminated for violations of any of the above
- The retiree is responsible for setting up forwarding to the personal email address. Assistance by the university’s Help Desk is limited and is on a “best effort” basis.
- No additional services such as use of network facilities, Internet access, or dial in facilities are implied nor are they included.
- The service expires annually on June 30 and expiration notices will be emailed in advance of that date. Retirees must respond prior to June 30 in order to retain the service.
- Retirees email addresses will not be included in any global distribution lists such as all-faculty, all-a&p, or all-usps. An all-retirees distribution list may be established if warranted.
