Welcome to the BbSEUG Conference 2007 Website!

The fourth annual Blackboard Southeast Users Group (BbSEUG) Conference, hosted this year by the University of North Florida, will be held Wednesday, February 28th through Friday March 2nd, 2007.  The conference will take place at the Sea Turtle Inn, an oceanfront resort in Atlantic Beach, Florida.

As in previous years, the BbSEUG Conference 2007 provides the opportunity for people in K-12 and higher education in the US southeast (and beyond!) to share ideas and to learn more about what others are doing around the region with regard to training, instructional design, system administration, and other Blackboard-related issues.  We have structured the program to provide seven breakout sessions with up to eight concurrent sessions during each, allowing over 50 time slots for presentations.

We invite you to submit a proposal for consideration for the conference by January 19, 2007.

In addition, this year we are expanding the conference schedule to provide a specially designated poster session and vendor exhibit time on the afternoon of the first day (Wednesday, February 28th).  This will give presenters an alternative format for presenting their topics, and it provides a generous amount of time and a relaxed and informal atmosphere for attendees to mingle with the presenters, with vendors, and with each other!  We will also have the Welcome Reception right after this.

And perhaps it goes without saying that Florida is a wonderful place to be during Winter, and the Jacksonville, FL region is no exception!  With temperatures in February/March in the high 60’s/low 70’s (and no chance of hurricanes then!), the climate is very pleasant! And with plenty of places to explore in the region, fun and socializing options abound!  Many options are a short walk from the Sea Turtle Inn.  In addition, complementary shuttles will be available Thursday evening to get to popular destinations, such as Downtown Jacksonville, St. Johns Town Center, and of course the University of North Florida!

We encourage you to register for the conference by Friday, February 2nd , 2007, to take advantage of the early bird rate of $200.00.  ($250.00 after February 3rd, 2007.)

If you have any questions about this year's conference, please email bbseug@unf.edu or contact Tony Turrin, BbSEUG Conference 2007 Coordinator, at 904-620-2179.

We look forward to seeing you in Florida at BbSEUG Conference 2007!
