UNF maintains information
and computer applications on several computer systems. The
popular Microsoft Windows server operating system is the multipurpose
network operating system running on many of our campus servers.
With a Windows account, and a workstation, you can share files
and printers reliably and securely, create and store many
kinds of data using a large variety of
software
applications. You can also access the UNF Microsoft Exchange
e-mail system.
The general purpose
Linux based system, often called the Osprey system, is used for
hosting the UNF World Wide Web site, database instruction and research
and to provide a general instructional computing environment. Access
to the Osprey server gives you the ability to create your own Web
page (learn more about that here). Faculty and staff use their UNF
network userID to access their account. Click
here to change your password.
Faculty and staff
should also check out the policies,
procedures and guidelines that apply to computer accounts
at UNF. Information about termination of computer accounts
will be found here.
Please note that in
order to be given a UNF network account, the user must have an entry
in the Human Resources Personnel system (Banner)
If you experience any
difficulties with your computer accounts, or have any questions,
please contact the ITS Help Desk at (904) 620-HELP or send them an
e-mail.
