The Intercultural Center for PEACE is a leader in providing diversity educational programs and training for the University of North Florida (UNF). Our diversity awareness focuses on ethnicity, gender, race, disability, religion, age, ideology, economics and sexual orientation. The Center has four priorities: embracing and providing interaction with UNF's minority student organizations; creating a forum for campus dialog regarding race relations and current domestic and global issues; education in diversity through Diversity Training, Intercultural Communication Workshops and Multicultural Festivals; and coordinating programs for the Florida/West Africa Linkage Institute (FLAWI).
Diversity is a search for an appreciation of the richness gained by the co-existence of our differences, as well as acknowledgement of our similarities. All cultures are good. Our Center works closely with UNF faculty some of which are highly regarded diversity scholars. Faculty from diverse backgrounds lecture about their cultures in most of our programs, from time to time they bring artifacts and these offers a robust experiential education in diversity theory and practice.
We are currently raising funds to build a Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial on
campus. Please make donation payable to the University of North Florida MLK project, Thank you.
