Workers' compensation
- In a medical emergency, transport the injured employee to the nearest medical facility, or call campus police for assistance. Immediately following the arrangement of emergency medical services for the injured employee, call OptaComp at (877) 518-2583 to report the injury.
- If an injury requires non-emergency treatment, notify the employee's supervisor and then immediately call OptaComp at (877) 518-2583. OptaComp will assist the injured employee in selecting an appropriate medical provider. This service is available by OptaComp 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- The employee or supervisor should complete a first report of injury for all injuries, regardless if treatment is sought or not, and submit it to Human Resources. Report all injuries to OptaComp immediately, even if the employee did not receive treatment.
- If the employee seeks medical treatment, he or she should obtain treatment notes for all office visits, prescription bills or out-of-pocket physician bills and send them to Human Resources.
