Year End Reminders
As we approach the end of 2009 and prepare for our holiday break, Human Resources would like to provide a list of some "housekeeping" items you may find helpful:
- Annual Leave Rollover: Annual leave hours in excess of the year-end maximums will roll into sick leave hours as of December 31, 2009. Year-end maximums are:
- Support employees: 240 hours
- Administrative and 12-month faculty: 352 hours
- Executive service: 480 hours
- New Hires: This year all budgeted new hires, with the exception of 9-month faculty, must start work on or before Monday, December 14, 2009 or wait until Monday, January 4, 2010. While employment offers can be made during this period, the last day for an employee to start work before winter break will be on December 14, 2009. This also includes departmental promotions from non-budgeted (OPS) to budgeted positions.
- Benefit Deductions: Any changes made to your medical, dental or supplemental benefit plans during the 2010 Plan Year Open Enrollment period will be reflected in the December 4, 2009 paycheck. Changes to your Flexible Spending Accounts or Health Savings Account will be reflected in the paycheck dated January 15, 2010. Please review your check carefully. No benefits deductions will be taken from the paycheck dated December 31, 2009 as this is the third paycheck of the month.
- Employee Assistance Program: UNF's Employee Assistance Program is available to help manage holiday stress, finances and a variety of other issues. Services through Corporate Care Works are confidential and available to UNF employees and their dependents. To contact Corporate Care Works, simply call (904) 296-9436 or (800) 327-9757 or visit www.corporatecareworks.com.
- Employee Perks: The perks web site has been updated. The perks section lists special discounts and savings available to faculty and staff. You can access the discounts from the perks page.
As a reminder, the University will be closed beginning December 24, 2009 and will reopen on January 4, 2010.
The office of Human Resources extends warm holiday wishes to our faculty and staff. We look forward to working with all of you in 2010!
