Year End Reminders
As we approach the end of 2007 and prepare for our holiday break, the Office of Human Resources wanted to provide a list of some "housekeeping" items you may find helpful:
- Payroll Deadlines:
- PAF's must be received in Human Resources by 5:00 p.m. on December 20, 2007 to be effective on the January 4, 2008 paycheck.
- Submit your timesheet to your supervisor as early as possible. Supervisors/proxies have until 5:00 p.m. on December 21, 2007 to approve timesheets.
- Please see the 2007 holiday operations memo for more details.
- Annual Leave Rollover: Annual leave hours in excess of the year-end maximums will roll into sick leave hours as of December 31, 2007. Year-end maximums are:
- Support employees: 240 hours
- A&P employees and 12-month faculty: 352 hours
- Executive service: 480 hours
- Minimum Wage Increase: Effective January 1, 2008, Florida's minimum wage will increase from $6.67 per hour to $6.79 per hour. Any employee currently earning less than $6.79 per hour will receive an automatic increase in salary to match the new Florida minimum wage. Departments do not need to send PAF's to Human Resources to initiate this salary increase. However, departments should ensure that any future new hire or change PAF reflects the new Florida minimum wage.
- Employee Assistance Program: UNF's Employee Assistance Program is available to help manage holiday stress, finances and a variety of other issues. Services through Corporate Care Works are confidential and available to UNF employees and their dependents. To contact Corporate Care Works, simply call (904) 296-9436 or (800) 327-9757 or visit www.corporatecareworks.com.
As a reminder, the University will be closed beginning December 24, 2007 and will reopen on January 2, 2008.
The Office of Human Resources extends warm holiday wishes to our faculty and staff. We look forward to working with all of you in 2008!
