Retirement Planning Seminars

The Office of Human Resources is pleased to offer retirement planning seminars during the month of May. Two sessions will be offered on Tuesday, May 6. Topics will include Cash and Debt Management and Estate Planning. These sessions are provided through third-party vendors or partners and are coordinated by the Office of Human Resources. Session I: Cash and Debt Management: Smart Spending
Presented by Mr. Dan Grable, Certified Financial Planner

This cash and debt management workshop is designed to help evaluate your current spending habits and create a spending plan that you can stick to. Tips for reducing expenses, managing debt and making decisions on the best use of available funds will be explored. We will also discuss how and when to review your credit reports and what makes up your FICO score. You will walk away from this workshop with an understanding of the cash/debt management process, how it can be used to reduce and manage your credit and create a budget specific to your situation.

Session II:  Estate Planning:  Caring For Your Loved Ones
Presented by Mr. Dan Grable, Certified Financial Planner

This estate planning workshop will help you gain an understanding of estate planning basics as well as debunk some of the myths surrounding this topic.  You will leave this workshop understanding how estate planning can ensure assets get passed as you intend them, how to take care of your survivor’s needs, the importance of health care directives and other legal documents, as well as a basic understanding of the transfer tax system.  Regardless of age and size of assets, estate planning is for everyone.
