Community Scholars Program

The Jaguars Foundation/UNF Community Scholars are part of a dynamic community where academic success is pursued and rewarded. High school students who qualify as Community Scholars are matched with a college mentor from the Honors Program at the University of North Florida. The Jaguars Foundation/UNF Community Scholars Program is interested in the scholar's full development as a citizen of the community. As such, the mentoring relationship is just the beginning of the support that the program offers.

Program Components include:

  • A Dynamic Ropes Course Orientation
  • One–on–One Mentoring
  • Weekly Group Tutoring
  • Monthly Group Projects that focus on:
    • Public Service
    • Cultural Awareness
    • SAT/ACT Preparation
    • Financial Aid Preparation
    • College Application Process
  • And last but not least, the opportunity to receive…The Jaguars Foundation/UNF Community Scholars Program Tuition Scholarship to attend the University of North Florida for four years!
Community Scholar Requirements:
  • Commitment to a drug–free lifestyle
  • Must be entering your Junior or Senior year of High School
  • Current overall high school GPA of 2.0 or higher

New Community Scholars are selected every March/April. The program begins every September and runs through May each year.
