At the end of the fall and spring semesters, the academic advisor will review the recipient list to make sure all students are still eligible to receive their scholarships for the following semester.  If students are found to be ineligible, replacements will be found and cancellation letters and/or emails will be sent out to all ineligible students. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Honors Director.

To apply for this scholarship, you have to complete an online application and an essay regarding how this financial assistance will impact your academic future as an Honors student. All essays will be reviewed and awarded by a sub committee from the Honors Council. The deadline is May 15 for the fall semester. All essays need to be delivered to the Honors Program office on or before May 15 of every year to be considered.

Scholarships for Students Who Intend To Go Into Public Service
The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships to college students who have outstanding leadership potential, plan to pursue careers in government or elsewhere in public service, and wish to attend graduate school to help prepare for their careers. Up to 75 scholarships will be awarded to college juniors valued at $24,000 each. UNF can nominate only four students for this scholarship. If you would like to be considered as a UNF nominee, please fill out the UNF application by the deadline in October of each year.

Scholarships for Math and Science Graduate Education
The NSF Graduate Fellowship is given to college seniors who are planning to pursue doctoral studies in mathematics, the natural and social sciences, or engineering. Ford Foundation Fellowships are given to minority students who plan to pursue graduate study in the sciences, mathematics, engineering or medicine.

Scholarships for Undergraduate Study Abroad
The Rotary Ambassadorial Cultural Scholarship is sponsored by the Rotary Foundation to fund language study and an immersion experience in several countries around the world. Both undergraduate and graduate students may apply.
The National Security Education Program Scholarships were designed to provide American undergraduates with the resources and encouragement they need to acquire skills and experience in countries and areas of the world critical to the future security of our nation. Students can apply for funding to support a summer, semester or year abroad.

Scholarships for Graduate Study in the United Kingdom
The BRITISH MARSHALL SCHOLARSHIP is funded by the British government. It enables 40 Marshall Scholars to study for a graduate degree at any of the universities in the United Kingdom.

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It funds 230 students from all over to world to study for a graduate degree at Cambridge University.

The Rhodes Scholarship was established in 1902 by the will of Cecil Rhodes. Thirty-two Rhodes Scholars from the U.S. are selected each year; they are appointed for two years of study in the University of Oxford, with the possibility of renewal for the third year.
