Admissions Information Requirements
Eligibility and Selection Process
There are three ways to obtain access into the program if you are an incoming freshmen: invitation, auto-admit or application.

As a UNF Merit Scholarship Recipient, you will be invited to join the Honors Program. No essay or resume is required.

Please note the Blue & Silver Merit Scholarship standard GPA requirements do not meet the Honors Program GPA requirements. Any Blue & Silver recipient interested can follow the Auto-Admission or Application selection process to apply.

With an Auto-Admission, you will need to meet the GPA/Test Score requirements listed below. No essay or resume is required.

GPA/Test Score requirements:
{GPA x 100 + SAT verbal and math test score >= 1600}
{GPA x 100 + ACT test score x 100 >= 3150}

If you are a first time in college applicant that meets one of the above formulas, please click here to begin your application.

You only need to meet one of the formulas, not both.

Please note the GPA is the recalculated GPA that the Admissions office uses for admittance into the university. If you don’t know your recalculated GPA, please call Admissions at 620-5555 for more information.

With the Application process, you will need to complete an application along with a resume and essay online. A resume should have your principal activities and honors in high school, including prizes, scholarships, professional or academic offices held, athletic pursuits, extracurricular interests and activities. This must not exceed two pages in length, and should be set in font no smaller than size 10 font. An essay should explain why you feel you would be a good asset for the University of North Florida Honors and Scholars Program.

Currently Enrolled UNF Students
For currently enrolled UNF students, the admission requirements are a 3.4 or higher for auto-admission. If you fall under this GPA requirement, you can apply through our application process online.  All currently enrolled UNF students as well as any transfer students interested in the Honors and Scholars Program will need to first attend an information session prior to apply online. All appointments can be made through our Honors Office main line at 620-2649.

Students can apply to the program by November 1 for the following spring term and by May 1 for the following fall term only after attending an informational session hosted by one of our Honors faculty. Your application will be denied if you do not attend a session.

In the application process, you will be asked to submit with your application a resume and a personal statement. It is recommended that you save your resume and personal statement in a word document and copy and paste them into the application form. A resume should have your activities and honors you have achieved from high school to now, including prizes, scholarships, professional or academic offices held, athletic pursuits, extracurricular interests and substantial activities. This must not exceed two pages in length, and should be set in font no smaller than size 10 font. A personal statement should explain why you feel you would be a good asset for the University of North Florida Honors and Scholars Program.
