This is a school-based violence prevention intervention. Its goal is to reduce aggression and
violence among participating youth. Aggressive behavior is reduced across a broad spectrum of
severity, ranging from hurtful speech, to physical fighting, use of weapons. The Peacemakers
Program attempts to positively change violence-related attitudes and to train students in
conflict-related psychosocial skills, including anger management, unbiased social perception,
conflict avoidance, problem-solving, and assertiveness.
