The SMART (Students Managing Anger and Resolution Together) Team is a computer-based, multimedia violence prevention intervention that uses games, simulations, graphics, cartoons, and interactive interviews to engage adolescents in learning new skills to resolve conflicts without violence. Eight modules cover anger management, dispute resolution, perspective-taking, and mediation. The SMART Team has demonstrated that it can increase student awareness of how certain behaviors may increase or reduce violence, and it has made student participants conscious of the need to establish rules of negotiation, rather than resort to violence as a final solution.
