The Collier County Early Literacy and Reading Partnership for Educational Success is a collaborative effort among FIE, Fun Time Early Childhood Academy, Incorporated, Florida Gulf Coast University, and the Collier County community to improve the literacy outcomes of at-risk preschool children. The program served 49 Head Start, faith-based, and subsidized preschool classrooms in 2004/2005 and expanded to 57 classrooms in 2005/2006. Collier County also implements the SEEDS (Skill-based Educational Experiences Delivery System) program, a volunteer program designed to support and extend the early literacy skills and knowledge learned by children in ELLM classrooms. |
