The 10 Regional Sunshine State Scholars in Mathematics and Science, along with their teachers and families, were recognized and presented with Resolutions at the Governor’s Cabinet Meeting.

The Florida Institute of Education (FIE) hosts the Sunshine State Scholars Program (SSSP). It is a collaborative effort among FIE, the Florida Department of Education, the 67 school districts, and higher education and public school educators across the state. The program recognizes and rewards exemplary performance of high school seniors in the area of mathematics and science.

The program hosts a competition in which high school seniors demonstrate their knowledge of mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, and biology. It culminates in an annual Awards Banquet in which one student receives the title of Sunshine State Scholar in Mathematics and Science.
