The mission of the Center for Professional Development and Training is to provide learning opportunities to University employees to develop the knowledge and skills needed to perform in their diverse roles of serving students and supporting the learning process.  CPDT partners with departments at the University by offering expertise, resources and training to assist departments in developing consistent and effective delivery of employee learning programs.

Overview

The Center for Professional Development and Training (CPDT) was established July, 2003 to align professional development and training initiatives with institutional goals through collaborative efforts with other departments.  The Center offers a wide range of professional, managerial and computer courses for staff and faculty using instructor-led and web-based training interventions. The University encourages all members to become lifelong learners by providing subsidies for undergraduate and graduate level courses taken at UNF, providing educational leave opportunities and providing waivers for Continuing Education courses.  Tuition waivers for faculty and staff are available through the Employee Education Program. Contact the Office of Human Resources for more information.  Employees may apply for leave through the Employee Educational Leave Program to pursue educational goals.  Contact the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs for more information.  Additional educational opportunities are offered through a collaborative partnership with the Division of Continuing Education that allows staff and faculty to enroll in programs on a seat available basis.
