The program transitioned to the Center for Professional Development & Training on July 1, 2007. The LearnUNF Program is a series of presentations designed to allow participants to learn about the essential features of UNF's daily operations and plans for the future. Definition and Philosophy:

The LearnUNF Program is designed to promote a sense of belonging and purpose to students and employees throughout the UNF community. Through a series of presentations, all interested members of the UNF family can learn about essential features of UNF's daily operations and plans for the future. Through this interactive learning opportunity, individuals will develop a better understanding of UNF's structure, procedures, and mission. Members of the campus community will gain insight into how their role fits into the broader UNF structure and mission.

Purpose:

  • Develop a series of presentations by leaders of UNF and its divisions.
  • Promote and encourage attendance from a broad spectrum of UNF faculty, staff and students.
  • Solicit and analyze feedback on program success and areas for improvement.

Structure:

Three presentations are developed during the academic year. Each presentation has a cohesive theme, such as "UNF's future vision and plan" and is aligned with the university's vision, mission and goals. Each presentation has three parts:

  • A "keynote" address by a leader in the UNF community.
  • A panel discussion with 3-5 participants, chosen for their expertise in the area.
  • An open question and answer period.

Program Goals:

  • Provide practical information on "how things work" at UNF.
  • Develop a sense of belonging to a larger campus community among faculty, staff, and students at all levels.
  • Develop an understanding of how each person's contributions fit into the broader UNF structure and mission.
  • Provide a forum to get answers to questions in a particular area of UNF operations.
  • Provide an opportunity for employees and students to give feedback on new initiatives.
