To Add a Course Event to a Course:

  1. Click on a Content Area in the Control Panel of your course.
    Content Area
  2. Select Course Event from the drop down menu on the right-side of the screen.
  3. Click Go.

  4. Complete the following fields on Event Information:
    1. Title - the name of the event, as it will appear to students in Blackboard.
    2. Contact - the name of the contact person(s) for the event.
    3. Location - location of the event.
    4. Limit Capacity - check this box to limit the number of students whom may register for the event.
    5. Capacity - the number of students allowed to register for the event.
    6. Description - details about the event.
    7. This event has a date - check this box if the event has a specific date or range of dates. Enter the start date/time and end date/time in the fields below.
    8. Hide list of names - check this box to hide the list of registrants from students in the Blackboard course.

  5. Complete the following fields on Options:
    1. Make the event available - select Yes to make the event available to students, select No to keep the event unavailable to students.
    2. Track the number of views - select Yes to track the number of times the students in the course review the event, otherwise, select No.
    3. Choose date restrictions - check the boxes Display After and Display Until to limit the amount of time students may review and register for the event. If the boxes are selected, select the correct date and time information below each box. If you do not wish to limit the time students may review the event, do not check the Display After and Display Until boxes.

  6. Click Submit to add the event.

  7. Click OK.
