This seminar offers an opportunity for faculty members to redesign a traditional course for online delivery via UNF's Blackboard Learning System. The intensive seminar will cover course design, effective instruction in the online environment, communication strategies, and online assessment. Participants examine course objectives and learning activities for the selected course and complete a conversion/redesign process. The seminar and its activities are based on an instructional model developed by the SUNY Learning Network to guide the development of online courses.

This seminar is open to full and part-time faculty who have chair approval to offer a course online in the coming academic year.

The seminar will run with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 18 participants.

  • The course is an upper-division or elective course that does not enroll more than 30 students.
  • The department has agreed to offer the course online during the Fall 2009 or Spring 2010 semesters.
  • If a required course, it will also be available in other sections.
