Aileen Miller, Biology

|
Professor Aileen Miller saw a need to extend the time that her students would have access to the electrophoresis gels they create in her General Biology II labs, so she came up with an innovative solution which is getting rave reviews.
The problem was that the quality of the samples begins to deteriorate as soon as the gels are removed from their staining bath. Scanning the gels, using one of the professional quality scanners available in CIRT, provides a great solution and Professor Miller extends accessibility by posting those images in Blackboard . Students are very pleased with the results, stating that this allows them to observe a large sample in the very best possible condition and better recognize trends. |
