Below you will find tutorial pages that may be used as handouts to learn or train students to use a variety of programs to create professional posters. If you are a novice at creating posters or you are training novices to create posters, I recommend that you use PowerPoint. PowerPoint tends to be a program with which many individuals have some experience. For those individuals with no experience with imaging programs, PowerPoint tends to be most easily mastered because of the similarity of commands in Microsoft Word. Most students have at the very least been exposed to Word as a word processing program. Consequently, they can translate their familiarity with Word to PowerPoint thereby insuring greater success and less frustration. We will continue to add tutorials for other programs as they are developed.
