The Assignment content type in Blackboard allows users to post a document with instructions in a content area of a Blackboard course and retrieve the completed assignment from a student, and grade that assignment via the Gradebook.

When instructors use Blackboard's Assignment Manager to post assignments, students can submit an Assignment via the View/Complete Assignment link and the completed assignment will appear in the Gradebook. This feature eliminates the need to have students e-mail assignments to instructors.
