How do I sort my Blackboard Gradebook by Course Reference Number?

You may use the Gradebook Smart Views to sort your course by CRN number:

Setup a group for each CRN

Setup a group for each CRN:

  1. From the Control Panel, click Users and Groups>Groups>Create Group Set. Select Manual Enroll.

  2. On the Create Group Set page, type a Name for the groups (i.e. Section), type the Number of Groups under Group Set Options. Click Submit.

  3. On the Edit Group Set Enrollments page, set the filter options (You may want to select Remove Members already in a Group from the Available Members List box) and select the students to add to each group by clicking a name/names, then moving the name/names to the selected items box. Do this for each group, then click Submit.

Setup Smart Views in the Gradebook:

1. From the Control Panel of your course, click Evaluation>Gradebook.

2. Click Manage>Smart Views.

3. Click Create Smart View.

4. Type a Name for the Smart View (Section1, etc.) then select the Type of View > Group. Select the correct group under Value click Submit.Repeat for each CRN.

5. Click the name of the Smart View from the Smart Views page to use the Smart View. Or use the Current View drop down to select a Smart View or return to the Full Grade Center View.
