What are the file naming conventions that are allowed by Blackboard? After uploading a file, I received a HTTP Status 404 error.
Follow these file naming conventions when naming files for use on Blackboard (including Content Items, Assignments, Discussion Board Attachments, and Assessment Attachments):
Use only letters, numbers and underscores _ in filenames.
Make sure that your files include a file extension (it is especially important for Mac users to check for this)
Avoid using the following characters in your file names: periods (except before a file extension), spaces, commas, pound signs, foreign characters, question marks, equal signs, dashes and any other "special characters" or non-alphanumeric characters
Avoid extremely long file names (over 32 characters including the file extension)
