HELPFUL RESOURCES >BLACKBOARD>FAQ>TEXT BOX EDITOR What is the Visual Editor and how do I use it? Blackboard uses a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. This makes it very simple to create formatted content in Blackboard. Using familiar tools, you can format text (color, font, etc) and paragraphs (indents, bullets, etc). You can even copy and paste text from Microsoft Word, and retain the formatting. The WYSIWYG Editor is available in most Blackboard text boxes.
The Visual Editor (WYSIWYG) is cross-browser, cross-platform compliant and is available throughout Blackboard. Note: When using Safari 2.0, the Visual Text Box Editor will only include actions that the browser supports. The Visual Editor includes a toggle which allows you to easily turn on and off the Visual Editor. Please Note: Any text entered into the text box will be lost if the Visual Editor is turned on or off after text is entered.
To set availability, click Personal Information on the My Institution tab, then select Change Personal Settings:
