Assessment Attempts

Instructors are able to set gradebook items for Blackboard Assessments with more than one attempt to calculate the grade for the assessment based on the first attempt, last attempt, highest score, lowest score, or on the average score of all attempts:

Once an assessment with multiple attempts is added to a content area, click on the name of the assessment in the Gradebook. For more information on assessments with multiple attempts, click here.

1. Click Modify Gradebook Item.
2. Select Grade of last attempt, Grade of first attempt, Highest grade, Lowest grade, or Average of grades.
   
3. Click Submit to update the Gradebook Item.

Average Score

The Gradebook now allows Instructors to select whether or not to display the Average Score. The default My Grades view includes the Average Score column.

My Grades Student View with Average Score Displayed:

To remove the Average Score column from the My Grades student view:

From the Gradebook Spreadsheet view, click Gradebook Settings.

Click Column Settings.

Uncheck the box next to Display Average Score.

Click Submit.
