Below is a sample list of the types of programming that Career Services has available to deliver to the Residence population. These are simply samples; we are also open to unique programming ideas.
How to Choose a Major- This is an overview of the aspects of choosing a college major, students will learn about self exploration, and barriers to decision making. We will discuss the various career assessment options available to students and how to determine if or which test is most appropriate to support student’s career decision-making.
Career Exploration- This workshop is designed to teach students different techniques and skills to aid in exploring their chosen major. Students are provided with a list of resources and tips useful for the exploration process.
Job Search Techniques- General job search strategies are discussed. This can be tailored to summer jobs or part-time jobs depending on the students
Interviewing- We provide a brief overview of interviewing do’s and don’ts and provide sample interview questions students can use to practice their interview skills.
Coops and Internships- This is a brief introduction to obtaining a coop or internship. Students learn the difference between the two and which is most appropriate for them.
Mock Interview- Practice those interview skills! Students will be asked a set of behavioral interview questions and critiqued at end of interview.
