No Show/Interview Cancellation Policy

Student Interview Cancellation Policy:
1. Before you sign up for any interviews with companies/organizations, it is important that you realize that each time you sign up for an interview you are making a serious commitment and are accepting the responsibilities that commitment involves.

2.  The organizations that come to the University of North Florida campus have made an equally serious commitment. Each recruiting organization has sent one or more of their representatives to meet with you, having spent money and considerable travel time to meet those of you who have requested an interview. They have every right to expect that you will keep your appointment.

3. Your failure to keep a scheduled appointment has the following effects:

a. You may have prevented another qualified candidate from meeting with the employer.

b. You may be depriving future students of the right to interview with that organization because universities and colleges with a high rate of “no shows” for appointments often get dropped from the list of campuses that the organization is willing to visit.

4.  To cancel an interview you must contact Career Services at least twenty-four hours in advance of your scheduled interview.  If an emergency arises on the day of your scheduled interview, making it impossible for you to make the appointment, you must advise Career Services immediately.  Failure to provide advance notification to Career Services regarding a cancellation will result in the following:

a. First Offense: You will be permitted no further Career Services (individual appointments, workshops or on-campus recruiting) until you have written a letter to the interviewer explaining why you failed to keep your appointment.  You must bring the original of this letter to Career Services with a stamped envelope (addressed to the recruiter) in order for you services to be reinstated.

b. Second Offense: You will need to follow the above procedures. Additionally you will need to speak with the Director, Rick Roberts, who will decide if your Career Services will continue.

c. Third Offense: Your Career Services will be automatically suspended.
