An optometrist examines eyes to evaluate health and visual abilities; diagnose eye diseases, and assess conditions of the eye and visual system. Also they provide the necessary treatment such as glasses, contact lenses, vision therapy, low vision aids, and in most states drugs to treat eye diseases.
