SECONDARY EDUCATION. Secondary school teachers help students delve more
deeply into subjects introduced in elementary school and
expose them to more information about the world and themselves.
Secondary school teachers specialize in a specific subject
such as English, Spanish, mathematics, history or biology.
Classroom presentations are designed by the teachers to
meet the students needs and abilities. Teachers
may also need to include multicultural programming in
their lesson plans to address the needs of all students.
In addition, teachers oversee study halls and supervise
extracurricular activities. This helps them to identify
physical or mental problems so the students are referred
to the proper resource agency for diagnosis and treatment.
Public school teachers must have at least a bachelor's
degree and be licensed.
