CRIMINOLOGY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE emphasizes on the criminal procedures taken in our local, state, and federal government through police, courts, corrections, and juvenile justice.  Many in the field of criminal justice work in controlling traffic, preventing and investigating crimes, and gather facts and evidence for criminal cases.  Some specialties associated in this field include law enforcement, corrections and rehabilitation, forensic science, criminology, legal assisting, public safety, and civil law.

According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Spring 2007 Salary Survey, beginning salaries for graduates with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, start at about $36,000.

UNF Academic Program
The Department of
Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of North Florida offers a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice.  This program is designed to help students understand the relationship and components of the different parts of the criminal justice system:  police, courts, and corrections.  In addition to helping students to understand the disciplinary in the field, it helps to draw together all the social and behavioral sciences, the natural sciences, the mathematical and computer sciences, and law and jurisprudence to concentrate on the trouble with crime in our society.
