2. Complete 12 credits in behavioral sciences with grades of B or higher. Three of the 12 credits must be Abnormal Psychology or Personality. *

 

 

Due in UNF Admissions

1. Completed Graduate "Application for Admission" and a $30.00 application fee. Applications are available from the Admissions Office, Blg. 2, Rm. 1200, or on-line at: http://www.unf.edu/graduatestudies.

____ 2. Official transcripts from all institutions attended.

3. Official GRE Scores.

 

 

Due in Student Advising Office, COEHS

____ 1. A personal statement. Your personal statement should include an explanation of your reasons for wanting to become a mental health counselor. You should describe your professional goals and interests in mental health counseling. Also, include a brief autobiographical statement in which you outline your personal history and discuss the major events in your life which have contributed to your goal of becoming a mental health counselor. Your statement should be no more than five double-spaced typewritten pages (font size = 12 pt).
____ 2. Resume. Your resume should summarize your educational, employment, and volunteer work history.
____ 3. Three letters of reference. All letters of reference should be from current or previous employers, supervisors, and/or professors. One letter must be from a mental health professional.
____ 4. On-campus interview. All candidates are expected to attend a interview with the faculty of the Counselor Education Program. Interviews are scheduled for May 17, 2002.
   

* Students are permitted to take 10 credits as Post-Baccalaureate students without being formally admitted to a graduate program. Recommended courses include: EDF 6480: Foundations of Educational Research, MHS 6006: Introduction to the Counseling Process, and MHS 6051: Personality and Life-Span Development.
