employers (i.e first choice, second choice).
Research the school systems
and organizations attending the event.
At
the Fair:
Present yourself as you
would in an interview, practicing professionalism at all times.
Check-in at the student
registration table and pick up employer listings and a name tag.
Head right away to your
favorite employer, then follow through with others.
Maintain eye contact, extend
a firm handshake, introduce yourself, and provide an interesting but
brief summary of your background, achievements and/or career interests.
If scheduling multiple Fair
interviews, incorporate breaks and avoid overlapping time slots.
Inquire about the formal
application & hiring process and collect any available materials.
Immediately following any
interview or contact, make notes of important information.
After
the Fair:
Follow-up with a thank-you
letter, addressed to specific interviewers or contact, within 2-3 days.
You might also include any application materials.
Within two weeks, call the
interviewer or contact to check on your application status and reiterate
your strong interest in their position
