The STAR Program is a series of seminars, workshops, services, and events designed to help you develop the develop employability skills and present yourself professionally to potential employers and be successful after you graduate from UNF.

STAR 1- Workshop
Job Search Basic Training: How to write Cover Letters, develop a resume and plan your Job Search campaign.

STAR 2-Workshop
Interviewing for Success: What to expect in a job interview, a review of questions to expect, and how to prepare.

STAR 3-Critique
Have your resume or cover letters critiqued in Career Services.

STAR 4- Register in Career Wings/Upload Your Resume
Career Wings is an on-line registration and referral system that connects you to a variety of on-campus recruiting programs including: on-campus interviews, resume referral program; full-time, part-time, and seasonal job postings

STAR 5
Set up a practice interview in Career Services to develop your interview skills to a higher level. Bring a videotape

Begin the STAR Program at any time and in any order.

***NEW: STARTING JANUARY 5, 2009

STAR 1 and STAR 2 Workshops can now be taken on line through Blackboard. Simply call the Career Services Receptionist at 904-620-2955 or send an email (jackie.allison@unf.edu) and ask to be added to the Blackboard Career Services STAR Program. Be sure to give:

a. Your full name
b. Your n number
c. Your major
d. Your email address

You will be added to the STAR Course, where you can view the Online Workshops and take the Quizzes for each workshop. To receive credit for the workshops you must score at least 80% on each quiz (Quizzes are 20 Questions). After successfully "passing'" each quiz you will be credited for the workshops in Career Wings.

Remember: You must be registered in Career Wings to participate in the STAR program.

NOTE: Coggin College of Business students must attend STAR Workshops presented in the Coggin College of Business in order to receive STAR credit. Register for upcoming classes in Career Wings or call the Career Management Center at 620-2067 for additional information about their STAR Program offerings.

 
 

S.T.A.R. Recognition: At the end of each semester Career Services recognizes all students who complete the S.T.A.R. Program. You will receive a STAR Certificate indicating successful completion of the program and will also receive a special STAR Pin to wear at major recruiting events.
