U.S. export control laws not only regulate the export of items from the United States, but also regulate the release of technical data to foreign nationals in the United States. In a university environment, these laws may limit the ability to use foreign national professors, students and other collaborators on certain projects. Further, enforcement is growing including the recent criminal conviction of a University of Tennessee professor.
This course will:
- Provide an overview of U.S. export control laws and explain how these laws apply to a university setting;
- Describe UNF's export compliance program and the steps you can take to ensure compliance with these rules;
- Offer an opportunity to ask questions to an export control attorney who regularly works with university clients.
