What is the Student Conduct Record Forgiveness process?

  • The Student Conduct Record Forgiveness process allows students who have been found responsible for violations of the Student Code of Conduct to request a review of their case files in order to potentially have them removed from their record.
    • Any additional violations committed after a student’s record has been reviewed and forgiven will reinstate the original record.

Am I eligible to apply for Student Conduct Record Forgiveness?
  • You are eligible to request the Student Conduct Record Forgiveness if all of the following apply to you:
    • The incident(s) in question are minor and did not result in suspension or expulsion
    • Further violations of similar incidents would not likely result in suspension or expulsion from the university
    • You are a student with Senior status (90+ credits)

Who hears the Student Conduct Forgiveness submission?
  • The Records Review Committee, appointed by the Vice President for Student and International Affairs, or designee, is comprised of faculty, staff, and students who will review and make a recommendation to the Vice President for Student and International Affairs, or designee.
How does the Records Review Committee determine whether or not to forgive my conduct record?
  • The Records Review Committee’s decision will be based on the following factors: severity of the violation, effect of the violation on the University community, sanctions applied, completion of sanctions, and ethical development demonstrated by the student.
  • The decision is passed on to the Vice President for Student and International Affairs, or designee, who will provide a decision to the student, in writing, fifteen (15) class days of receipt of the request.
    • There is no appeal process for a request for Student Conduct Record Forgiveness.
