The Brooks College of Health is undergoing an expansion that will add nearly 33,000 square feet.
Slated for opening by fall 2008, the building will house state-of-the-art skills and simulation labs, classrooms, faculty offices, conference rooms, and a lecture hall. Additionally, the building will house a student medical clinic with 10 exam rooms, doctor offices and an X-ray/radiation laboratory. The facility will allow UNF’s School of Nursing to expand its baccalaureate program and the Dept. of Athletic Training and Physical Therapy to add a clinical lab and research facility.

Dr. Rose Marie Rine, a research professor in the Department of Athletic Training and Physical Therapy, and her Vestibular Balance and Gait Laboratory moved in early July. The lab houses equipment used to test balance, movement, motor development and inner-ear function. One of Rine's current projects involves vestibular-related impairments in young children. Vestibular or inner-ear disorders can cause a myriad of problems including dizziness, vertigo and the inability to maintain balance.
