Scholarship Reception 2007

In November 2007, the Coggin College of Business hosted the annual scholarship reception in recognition of its fantastic student scholars and generous donors.  Thus far for the 2007-2008 academic year, the college has awarded over 120 scholarships and fellowships, many of which have been generously endowed. The college is optimistic about offering an even greater number next year.

Dean John McAllister recognized Luther and Blanche Coggin, who had the honor of meeting 25 students receiving scholarships and fellowships in their name. He also acknowledged Mel and Debbie Gottlieb, who established scholarships not only in business, but also Music and Nursing.  "With the continued growth of the Coggin College," Dr. McAllister said, "we will continue to build on our scholarship program to benefit all of our academic programs and our diverse collection of students."

The scholarship reception gives donors the opportunity to share a special lunch with the bright students that earn their scholarships. The students, in turn, are always eager to meet and graciously thank the individuals and companies who are instrumental in their success with financially balancing work, family, and the pursuit of their degrees.
