Faces in Coggin College
We are pleased to announce faculty and staff members who
have recently joined the Coggin College of Business.
Office of the
Dean
Amy Pierce
After joining the Coggin College as Assistant Director
of Development in Summer 2007, Amy was recently promoted
to Director of Development. She will be responsible
for fundraising events as well as overall management
of the Coggin Alumni Chapter and Business Affiliates
program. Amy
is a Coggin College alumna having recently graduated
with her MBA in August. Amy previously worked
at the Cummer Museum as their Membership Director.
Fun facts about Amy:
her favorite restaurant is Benito’s and her last
vacation was to China on a study abroad trip led by Dr.
Adel El-Ansary.
Department of
Economics & Geography
Robert Pavasuthipaisit
Dr. Pavasuthipaisit,
Assistant Professor of Economics, teaches Intermediate Macroeconomics
and International Monetary System. His primary research
is concerned with monetary economics and monetary policy,
exchange-rate theory and policy and general international
economics, currently focusing on the role of asset prices
in the conduct of monetary policy and exchange-rate policy
in a low interest-rate environment. He holds a
PhD in economics from Princeton University, an MPA from Harvard
University and a BS degree from MIT. Prior to joining
the UNF, he worked as an investment analyst for a global buyout
fund and a private equity fund owned by the Government
of Singapore.
Department
of Marketing & Logistics
David Cantor
Dr. Cantor is Assistant Professor of Transportation
and Logistics. He received a Ph.D. from the University
of Maryland. Dave also received his M.S. in Information
Systems from the University of Maryland. His research
is largely focused on supply chain management and information
systems. Dave will be incorporating supply chain
technology into his undergraduate courses. His research
has been published in the Transportation
Journal and Transportation
Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review.
Lynn M. Brown
Lynn Brown returned to the Coggin College as
the new Associate Director of the Transportation and Logistics
Flagship Program. Lynn received a BBA in Transportation & Logistics
and Banking & Finance from the Coggin College in 2003. She
loved UNF so much, she never left, having worked for the
last few years in Alumni Services. Lynn is also a
big Osprey basketball fan and has been an honorary coach
for seven consecutive years.
Fun Facts about Lynn:
favorite restaurants include The French Laundry in Napa
Valley and Tom Kiang in San Francisco, and
favorite places to travel are Glacier Park, Montana and
New York City during the US Open.
Advising & Study
Abroad
Terry DeRubeis
Terry has been a welcome addition to the Coggin Advising
team. She joined us over the summer and jumped right
in during the hectic Fall registration period. Terry
holds a BS in French/Italian/Secondary Education from the
University of Wisconsin – Madison and has completed
graduate coursework in cross-cultural counseling at NC
State. Terry previously worked “behind the
scenes” as a coordinator in UNF’s Enrollment
Services Processing Division.
Fun facts about Terry:
Favorite movie is The Shining and last vacation was to Hawaii – four
islands in seven days.
Kate Mattingly
As the new Study Abroad Advisor, Kate brings with her
many study abroad experiences as well as a two year stint
as a Peace Corp volunteer in Kazakhstan. Kate received
her MBA with concentrations in Marketing and International
Studies and her BA in Linguistics from the University of
Florida. She is enthusiastic about study abroad and
invites all students to have and embrace international/intercultural
experiences.
Fun facts about Kate: favorite movie (this month) is Pan’s
Labyrinth and
favorite books include One Hundred Years of Solitude and Ender’s Game.
