| Chinese
University Joins the GlobalMBA
Coggin College’s GlobalMBA program welcomed a new
partner in 2007. Dongbei University of Finance and Economics
(DUFE) replaced the University of Provence (France), which
withdrew from the program in 2006. DUFE, located in the
major port city of Dalian, is one of the top business schools
in northeastern China. DUFE’s inclusion transforms
the program’s
focus from trans-Atlantic to truly global.
A new cohort of seventeen students from Germany, Poland,
China and the United States began the GlobalMBA program
in October, 2007. They will study together for one semester
each at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (Germany),
the University of Warsaw (Poland), DUFE and UNF. Upon graduation
in December 2008, all GlobalMBA students will earn a UNF
MBA and a European Master’s degree conferred jointly
by the German and Polish partners.
Another new feature of the GlobalMBA program is the GLOBUS
project, in which international student teams will conduct
in-depth studies of key industries. Those analyses will
form the basis for on-going studies by future GlobalMBA
cohorts, with the results being posted to the website.
The goal is for GlobalMBA students to create value for
firms, both enhancing information available to firms and
providing students with in-depth, real-world experience. The GlobalMBA is taught entirely in English. New cohorts
begin each October, with applications due early in the
calendar year. For more information, see GlobalMBA.unf.edu.
