College Ranks Among the Best
The
Coggin College of Business at the University of North
Florida is once again ranked as an outstanding business
school, according to The
Princeton Review. The New York-based education services
company features UNF’s Coggin College in the 2008
edition of its “Best 290 Business Schools.”
"We compile our ranking lists in
multiple categories based on what students report to us
about their schools to help applicants decide which of
these academically outstanding schools is best for them,”
said Robert Franek, vice president of publishing for Princeton
Review. “We are pleased to recommend the University
of North Florida’s Coggin College of Business to
readers of our book and users of our website as one of
the best institutions they could attend to earn an MBA.”
“Best 290 Business Schools”
highlights each school's academics,
student life and admissions, plus ratings for academics,
selectivity and career placement services. In the Coggin
College profile, the Princeton Review editors
describe the business program as “an excellent
choice for the sensible business student, as it offers
quality instructors and overall programs at an affordable
price...[and] a strong focus on application-based learning.” They
quote Coggin College students saying, “I have
seen a direct correlation between my performance at
work and the additional knowledge gained through my
MBA courses. Most professors have done an excellent
job relating the course material to real-world business
examples.”
The Princeton Review does not
rank the schools in the book on a single hierarchical
list from 1 to 190, or name one business school best overall.
The book has 11 ranking lists of the top 10 business schools
in various categories. Ten lists are based on The
Princeton Review's
surveys of 19,000 students attending the 290 business schools
profiled in the book. Conducted during the 2006-07, 2005-06,
and 2004-05 academic years, the student surveys
were done primarily online.
Coggin College received an additional
honor from the Open Doors
report on Study Abroad for 2007.
Among masters institutions, UNF ranked as #4 for
number of students participating in short-term study
abroad programs and #16 for sending students abroad
in 2005-2006. Over half of the students studying abroad
at UNF came from the Coggin College of Business.
With more than 3,800 students, the Coggin
College’s mission is to educate and develop business
professionals through rigorous, relevant accredited degree
programs offered by faculty devoted to student learning
and engaged in scholarly activities. Since 1976, the
Coggin College of Business has been accredited by AACSB—only
one in five business schools is awarded the accreditation,
which honors the best business schools in the world.
The AACSB is the world leader in accreditation for business
education.
