Coggin
Alumni Plans Events
to Keep Alumni Connected
The first quarter of 2006 allowed the Coggin College of
Business Alumni Chapter to offer an increased amount of
activities for fellow alumni.
In February, the chapter hosted its first
breakfast devoted to Networking, and welcomed speaker Tony
Stromberg. Mr. Stromberg is the founder of Crossingate,
a company that utilizes the principles of entrepreneurship
to enhance growth in individuals, companies, and organizations.
His presentation focused on how to network effectively and
get ahead in the changing business world.
In March, alumni enjoyed the Spring Speaker
Series luncheon, featuring Mark Vitner. Vitner is the Senior
Economist and Director of Corporate Investment Banking,
Wachovia Corporation and also an alumnus of the Coggin College
of Business. His presentation focused on “Globalization
in the US Economy: What does it mean to Jacksonville and
to UNF?” and was attended by more than 50 alumni and
faculty from the Coggin College.
Presently, the Coggin Alumni Chapter Board
is working to secure the next round of speakers for the
2006 – 2007 Alumni Speaker Series. Many intriguing
individuals have been identified and we look forward to
next year’s exciting schedule of lecturers.
The Coggin College Alumni Spring Social
was held in early May at Seven Bridges Grille & Brewery
and was a wonderful success. Please join your fellow alumni
at the “Summer Sizzler Social” scheduled for
Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at the Twisted Martini.
The cost is just $5.00 and includes one free drink and unlimited
appetizers. Details can be found on the alumni
website.
