Libyan Ambassador Visits Coggin College
Ambassador
Ali Suleiman Aujali of Libya spoke with Coggin College
students and faculty about his efforts to develop strong
relations between the United States and Libya. Ambassador
Aujali has worked to lift heavy sanctions in Libya
and re-establish international connections after 25
years of isolation from the U.S. Education
is especially important to the Ambassador. His
efforts have helped to triple the number of Libyan
students studying in Canada, and he hopes to achieve
the same with the U.S.

Harold
Monk Accounting Lecture
Students, faculty, alumni
and business professionals enjoyed a special lecture
by Harold L. Monk, Jr., Chair of the Auditing Standards
Board and Managing Partner of Davis Monk & Company in November. Monk’s
lecture, titled “After Sarbanes-Oxley: Standard
Setting in the Wake of the PCAOB...What's Next?," provided key
information about the Public Company Accounting Oversight
Board and what their work could mean for private companies
and non-profit organizations as well.
"We were
honored that Harold Monk could join us to share his
particularly insightful thoughts to our constituents,"
noted Dr. Bobby Waldrup, Assistant Professor of Accounting
in the Coggin College.
