Directors Named for
International Business Program
The International Business program, one of two newly designated
Flagship
programs in the Coggin College of Business, has appointed
four directors for the program. The directors
are from wide-ranging areas of the globe and effectively
represent diverse cultural backgrounds as well.
"Our Flagship designation allows
us to assign directors to oversee the four critical aspects
of the IB program,” said
Dr.
Jeff Steagall, Associate Dean of the Coggin College. “It
is a tribute to our hiring efforts that the four directors
represent four nations on three continents."
Economics and Geography professor, Dr.
Sharon Cobb has been named the Director
of International Curriculum and will be responsible
for all International Business curriculum issues.
She will manage the International Business bachelor’s
degree program, infusing IB across the curriculum.
Faculty training and the coordination of short-term
study abroad offerings will also be under Dr. Cobb’s
supervision. Dr. Cobb is from the Isle of Man, a territory
of Great Britain.
Dr.
Andres Gallo, the newly appointed Director
of the Center for International Business Studies, is also
a professor of Economics and Geography. Dr. Gallo’s
responsibilities include coordinating International Business
conferences, faculty and guest speaker exchanges abroad,
grant writing and the branding of the Center. Dr. Gallo
is from Argentina.
Dr.
Oliver Schnusenberg, a professor of Accounting
and Finance, has been appointed to the position of Director
of International Relations. Dr. Schnusenberg holds the responsibility
for all international cooperative degree programs, including
the GlobalMBA. Additionally, he is responsible for writing
grants to strategically leverage new partnerships, and will
work to maintain and strengthen existing alliances. Dr.
Schnusenberg is from Germany.
In addition to the new faculty director
positions, Anne
Sheridan Fugard was promoted to the role of Director
of Study Abroad. Anne will partner with high school and
community college counselors and language faculty to ensure
that students know about the incredible study abroad opportunities
that await them at the Coggin College.
These Directorships and initiatives are
the direct result of the Flagship designation of the International
Business program by UNF President John Delaney, and will
provide a foundation for excellence as the caliber of this
