Leadership
Changes for the
Business Advisory Council
This fall, David Smith (BBA ’82), Chairman/CEO of
PSS World Medical, Inc. completed his two year term as
Chairman of the Business Advisory Council, and Leerie
T. Jenkins, Jr., Chairman & CEO of Reynolds, Smith & Hills,
Inc. took the helm.
Dean John McAllister and the members of
the Business
Advisory Council thanked Smith for his leadership
and commitment at a surprise event in September of this
year.
“We are extremely grateful for David’s
longstanding commitment to the Coggin College, as a valued
alumnus and a strategic business partner. In particular,
David’s leadership especially helped us during the
planning phases of the Career Management Center project,”
said Dean John McAllister. “On behalf of the Coggin
College, I thank David for his service and am delighted
to welcome Leerie to the Chairmanship for the 2006-2008
term.”
"The opportunity to serve as Chair provided so much
to me personally. I had a great time giving back to my
school and community,” said David A. Smith. “Additionally,
I am grateful to the Dean and his team who made this job
anything but a challenge. Leerie Jenkins could not be a
better and more qualified leader to Chair our future and
I look forward to continuing to work with him."
In November, Jenkins began his term as
Chairman and welcomed Robert E. White, President of Compass
Bank, as his Vice Chair and thanked the committee chairs
for their continuing leadership:
