UNF's
Coggin College Among
"Best" Business Schools The
Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida
is an outstanding business school, according to The
Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company features
UNF’s Coggin College in the just-published 2007 edition
of its “Best 282 Business Schools.”
"We chose schools for this book based
on our high regard for their academic programs and offerings,
institutional data we collect from the schools, and the
candid opinions of students attending them who rate and
report on their campus experiences at the schools,”
said Robert Franek, vice president of publishing for Princeton
Review. “We are pleased to recommend the University
of North Florida’s Coggin College of Business to readers
of our book and users of our website as one of the best
institutions they could attend to earn an MBA.”
“Best 282 Business Schools”
has two-page profiles of the schools, which highlight academics,
student life and admissions, plus ratings for academics,
selectivity and career placement services. In the Coggin
College profile, the Princeton Review editors describe the
business program as “an excellent choice for the sensible
business student.” They quote Coggin College students
saying, “I am very pleased with my professors at UNF
who have been a part of corporate America. They have brought
valuable experience into the classroom.”
The Princeton Review does not rank the
schools in the book on a single hierarchical list from 1
to 282, or name one business school best overall. The book
has 11 ranking lists of the top 10 business schools in various
categories. Ten lists are based on The
Princeton Review's
surveys of 18,000 students attending the 282 business schools
profiled in the book. Conducted during the 2005-06, 2004-05
and 2003-04 academic years, the student surveys were done
primarily online.
In May, Coggin College had two of its
programs—Transportation & Logistics and International
Business—selected as UNF’s latest flagship programs.
Both business programs were selected because they are of
the highest caliber and each has the potential to draw talented
students from around the world, tackle cutting-edge research
projects and help solve problems facing today’s businesses.
This recognition of excellence will allow these business
programs to grow and expand. A total of $1.25 million dollars
annually has been set aside for these programs and other
flagship programs.
With more than 3,800 students, the Coggin
College’s mission is to educate and develop business
professionals through rigorous, relevant accredited degree
programs offered by faculty devoted to student learning
and engaged in scholarly activities. Since 1976, the
Coggin College of Business has been accredited by AACSB—only
one in five business schools is awarded the accreditation,
which honors the best business schools in the world.
The AACSB is the world leader in accreditation for business
education.
