Wayne Weaver Provides an Inside Look
into the NFL
About 100 alumni of the Coggin College of Business enjoyed
the Fall Speaker Series featuring Wayne Weaver, which
was presented by the Coggin College of Business Alumni
Chapter.
Weaver, chairman and CEO
of the Jacksonville Jaguars, spoke about "Collective
Bargaining and Revenue Sharing in the NFL", providing
an insider’s look into the business behind the National
Football League and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“We are honored that
Mr. Weaver shared his insights and time with our alumni,”
notes Michael Plumb (BBA 1995), board member and committee
chair for the Coggin College of Business Alumni Chapter.
The Coggin College of Business
Alumni Chapter represents over 12,000 college alumni since
University of North Florida’s inception. The chapter
leadership is represented by 13 board members who lead
committees to organize socials, professional development,
and networking events for business alumni.
“After reorganizing
our chapter in February, we are looking forward to providing
more meaningful events like this one for our fellow alumni,”
says Greg Kencitzski (MBA 2001). “The board and
committee volunteers are working now on planning events
for 2006.”
In March 2006, the UNF Distinguished
Alumni Award winner, Mark Vitner (MBA 1992) who is chief
economist for Wachovia in Charlotte, North Carolina, will
speak at the next speaker series event for the growing
alumni chapter.
“With leaders like
Wayne Weaver and Mark Vitner, we are excited about the
future of this important networking and learning opportunity
for our alumni,” smiles Kencitzski.
