Star Line Establishes Business Scholarship
On October 3, 2005, Sea Star Line, LLC
announced a new endowed scholarship to be established for
the University of North Florida's Coggin College of Business.
Beginning with the current school year,
the Sea Star Line Endowed Scholarship will be awarded each
year to promising students who declare a major in transportation
and logistics, international business, business administration,
or marketing within the Coggin College of Business at UNF.
"Jacksonville is one of the country's
most productive transportation hubs," said Frank Peake,
president of Sea Star Line. "It is essential that we
support our local programs to ensure we have a continual
supply of qualified professionals. UNF has done a terrific
job producing high quality job candidates, and we plan to
be a key part of that effort."
"We are honored that Sea Star Line
is supporting the college and its students in this significant
way," noted Dr. John McAllister, dean of the Coggin
College of Business. "The key to the success of the
college has been its close communication with North Florida's
business community. This gift from Sea Star Line is another
example of the generosity of business leaders who devote
their time, experience and resources to our students and
programs."
The Coggin College of Business at the University
of North Florida is accredited by AACSB, the Association
to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Only about 25%
of business schools in the United States are accredited
by AACSB. Among these, the Coggin College of Business ranks
within the third of AACSB schools accredited in both business
