Summary:
 

This course will offer a contemporary view of the golf industry in Scotland.  Students will be able to make comparisons between the golf industry in the US and Scotland.  Scotland, the home of golf, is in the process of growing golf as a segment of their tourism industry with a particular focus on destination golf.  Students will have the opportunity to tour top golf facilities in Scotland and meet with numerous industry leaders where they will gain valuable insight in to this growing industry.  Site visits will include:  Castle Stuart, Kings Barns, Saint Andrews, Heritage Golf of St. Andrews and other legendary golf venues.  In addition, a number of exciting cultural activities will also be provided in order to enhance the students’ educational experience.  Some of these cultural activities include: Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and Loch Ness.  Lectures, discussions and debates will center on the comparative nature of the challenges that exist in the golf industry in both the United States and Scotland.
