More Information
Getting Started:
There are a number of activities to orient the GlobalMBA students to the University of North Florida and the Coggin College of Business. All visa holders will have an international student orientation, hosted by UNF's International Center. The Coggin College of Business will also host an orientation for all new MBA students, including GlobalMBA students. Finally, a GlobalMBA orientation will be held, usually followed by a social outing, to welcome the cohort to Jacksonville.
Housing
On–Campus: The University of North Florida recommends that GlobalMBA students consider living on–campus. UNF's Housing Department has a comprehensive web site which describes housing options, accommodations, prices, locations and general information. Rent ranges from approximately $1600 - $2300 for the semester depending on accommodations. It is common to pay an application fee ($200) and a processing fee ($50) along with the semester rent. Students are expected to pay the semester's rent, application fee, and processing fee at once when they arrive in Jacksonville.
Off–Campus: There are a number of private off–campus apartments near the University of North Florida's campus. If students would like to live off–campus, they are expected to make housing arrangements in advance.
Getting Around
Jacksonville does not have a strong public transportation system compared with most European cities. Most exchange students use the limited bus service and/or groups of students often purchase or rent cars during their stay in Jacksonville.
